New Haven Junction

The New Haven depot is modeled on a Rutland RR depot at New Haven Junction, Vermont. New Haven is a village east of the actual depot. I found this kit on ebay, and it still shows up. I don't know if anyone is still producing it.

The prototype depot is shown below. I had found some photos on the internet from Shaughnessy's The Rutland Road along with others taken in 2003, so I used them to somewhat model the details. We took the picture below (and a lot of others) while on vacation in 2009. I have a train order signal kit that I need to build and install and then I'll be pretty happy with this.

The freight house is not part of the prototype, but I needed one somewhere. This was a Walthers kit. I painted it to match the depot. The little shed next to it is a crossing guard shack from another Walthers kit.
